Fried Chicken

My Favourite Food <(^-^)>

Fried Chicken !!!

Fried chicken is a dish consisting of chicken pieces usually from broiler chickens which have been floured or battered and then pan-fried, deep fried, or pressure fried.

The breading adds a crisp coating or crust to the exterior.

What separates fried chicken from other fried forms of chicken is that generally the chicken is cut at the joints and the bones and skin are left intact.

Crisp well-seasoned skin, rendered of excess fat, is a hallmark of well made fried chicken.

Fried chickens taste so darned good. The crispy skin, the juicy white meat, the chicken gravy dripping down your chin. The whole package is just straight up awesome.

Throughout the world, different seasoning and spices are used to augment the flavor of fried chicken. Because of the versatility of fried chicken, it is not uncommon to flavor the chicken's crisp exterior with a variety of spices ranging from spicy to savory. Depending on regional market ubiquity, local spice variations may be labeled as distinct from traditional Southern U.S. flavors, or may appear on menus without notation. With access to chickens suitable for frying broadening on a global scale with the advent of industrialized poultry farming, many localities have added their own mark on fried chicken, tweaking recipes to suit local preferences.

It's been a comfort food of mine since as a child. It's like a guilty pleasure and I must have it at least once a week. With so many kinds of fried chickens nowadays, it's not surprising why I never get bored of eating fried chicken.

"Cut [the chickens] up as for the fricassee, dredge them well with flour, sprinkle them with salt, put them into a good quantity of boiling lard, and fry them a light brown." Making fried chicken at home is also so easy. Try it! :)

My family prefer eating dark meat instead of white meat. Everyone only wants the chicken thigh and drumsticks for the fried chicken. For me, chicken breast is tasteless most of the time and eating the meat is an unpleasant experience.

However, some well-cooked chicken breast that has been brine or dipped in buttermilk are really delicious.
